Janina Angel Bath Group-Amnesia, SF CA; 2/25/14

I must admit that I  got a kind of sinking feeling last night, walking into Amnesia and seeing a stand up comedy show happening. Visions of drunken wannabe funny guys, quickly turning heckler, swam in my head.
Happily, no such types were present as Janina and I brought a stripped-down, vocals/drone/percussion sound forth into the Mission. My focus was definitely to keep things simple on the percussion side, leaving lots of space for the vocal and keyboard sounds to ring out.
Things seemed to sound fine as we navigated our way through a currently guitar-less set. I overheard the sound guy say that the keyboards could have been louder, but, I was playing pretty quietly, so I'll put that one on him.
Janina's dad, Roger, joined us on two songs towards the end of the set: a family jam!

I will play with Janina Angel Bath this Tuesday!

This Tuesday, 2/25, I will play a short set of tunes with Janina Angel Bath at Amnesia SF. It's been over twenty years since I played at this space, when it was Chameleon, and I have not been in the place since 1997 or so!
We'll be doing a short set, with visuals by Huckleberry to accompany our sparse, stripped down sound.
Set at 9PM sharp, and Amnesia is located at 853 Valencia in the Mission. Can someone please find me a parking space?

Mountain vs. Building Valentines Day Show; Studio at the End of the Earth, Oakland, CA 2/14/14

Mountain vs. Building's Valentines Day Party was pretty sparsely attended, but our spouses and a few friends showed up for what turned out to be sort of a jam, not so much a show per se.
Still, we had fun playing and socializing on a Friday night! I HEART West Oakland, always, even though it seems as if I caught some kind of weird cold while hanging out.

New Mountain vs. Building tracks, and a show!

These two tracks were recently recorded at Sheila's place in Berkeley.

We will be playing a Valentine's Day show at Studio at the End of the Earth, 1500 Wood St., in Oakland, this  Friday, 2/14. Show is free, and starts at 7PM!  Be there! 

Crow Crash Radio semi-live shots 2/10/14

Brian had an idea to have a brunch, invite a bunch of his daughter's friends and parents over, and have Crow Crash Radio play. Sounded good to me, and, hey, there were doughnuts, mimosas, and coffee!
