This tune was my Manifesto. I wanted to write a Rock-n-Roll statement, something defining my life. In a way, the lyrics were a sarcastic comment on the scene-oriented behaviors I witnessed in so many music venues. People want to be a part of something hip and cool and successful. As my music career has never really entailed aspects of any of those adjectives, I felt compelled to give the reasons why.
The title is a direct reference to Lester Bangs, and his late piece, All My Friends are Hermits. I would often dedicate the song to him at live shows.
